ABOUT MUSIC IN MELROSE
Whether you're a seasoned
performer or a newcomer, Music in
Melrose is a great place to play
and hear music.

Open-mikers perform for an
appreciative audience in a relaxed,
supportive atmosphere and any
kind of acoustic (or light electric)
music is welcome.
In operation since 2006, the coffeehouse is hosted
by Janet Feld and Howie Newman.
Many local musicians have made their performing debuts at the coffeehouse.
And a lot of people just come down to listen.

Although most performers are singer-songwriters, we've also had a barbershop
quartet, medieval instrumentals and a cappella singers.

At 8:20, there is a 30-minute feature set by a professional musician. It's an
enjoyable evening for everyone involved.

We've had a lot of great feature acts over the years. For a year-by-year list,
see the
Music in Melrose Alumni page.
